Fright-tober gets Highest Honors for Marketing
By: Lou Antonelli Managing Editor of the Daily Tribune

The Mount Pleasant/Titus County’s Fright-ober project won top honors last week as Best Marketing Campaign from the Texas Chamber of Commerce Executives (TCCE).

Faustine Curry, executive director of the chamber, attended the group’s annual meeting in Bastrop, and was pleasantly surprised at the recognition, which was presented at the awards dinner Monday evening. “It was awesome, it is quite an honor,” said Curry.

She said she had submitted Mount Pleasant in the category for smaller chambers. Last October was the second year for the promotion.

“I’m thrilled,” she said. “It was created to bring in visitors to the city.”

In addition to the many people and businesses who helped with the promotion, she said it wouldn’t have been as big a success as it was without the help of graphic artist Steven Barker, who did all the art and designs.

She said the Mount Pleasant Chamber also received third place for Best Web Site from the associations of chamber of commerce executives.
